ROKwire UNIVERSITY application
The ROKWIRE University Application provides students, faculty, and alums the information they need to stay connected, healthy, safe, organized, and entertained.
Capabilities include the COVID-19 solution, athletic event schedules and viewing, personalized event recommendations, transit schedules and passes, course information, maps to your classes, campus dining menus and meal credits, digital student ID, campus cash, and even the laundry machines available for use.

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised concerns for the safety of students and campus communities. To address this challenge, the ROKWIRE team took action and leveraged the power of the platform to develop an innovative COVID-19 response that helps ensure the students’ safety and privacy.

The ROKWIRE platform has a user-centric approach to privacy. Users set privacy and corresponding functionality in the app at levels they prefer, and the ROKWIRE platform keeps only the data users permit.

TESTBED ENVIRONMENT
The University of Illinois and the surrounding communities of Champaign-Urbana are currently the testbed for ROKWIRE. In the testbed, solution partners can develop and test new innovative solutions, taking advantage of the ecosystem.
LEADERSHIP & INNOVATION
The ROKWIRE platform team, based at the University of Illinois, is composed of dedicated computer scientists, commercial software developers, a wellness specialist, and scholars making discoveries to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities. Central to the realization of the ROKWIRE platform has been John Paul, ROKMETRO founder. After 40 years as a leader in technology, delivering large scale consumer hosted applications, John joined this specially formed ROKWIRE team to oversee the creation of the first open source smart city platform that puts users in control of their privacy and personal data.
